Accra Majestics seal partnership with Firm Foundation Rugby Academy
Ghana Rugby League (GRL) new boys, Accra Majestics Rugby League Football Club (RLFC), on Saturday 28th August 2021 entered into a partnership deal with 2021 Ghana Junior Rugby League Championship (JRLC) runner-ups Firm Foundation Rugby Academy.
The deal sees Firm Foundation (whose focus is geared more towards youth development) act as sort of a feeder club for Majestics; immediately promoting any players over the age of eighteen (18) to the rugby league new boys who in turn, will over support the club in terms of coaching and the scouting of up-and-coming rugby league stars.
Speaking to Majestics Owner and Team Manager, Rachel Ankomah, after the event she explained that the potential she saw in Firm Foundation was the reason she decided to initiate the deal.
“Watching their previous games I realised there is potential in them and also in Ghana we don’t really have junior clubs, and we want to develop that side so I believe starting with Firm Foundation will really be of help to us as a nation and in Africa.”
Seeba Ali Mohammed, Firm Foundation’s Owner and Head Coach also spoke about the deal saying that he wants the best for his academy
“I want the best for the academy, I want to fix the structure of the academy and make the academy the greatest in the whole of West Africa,”
He further stated
“I have seen the potential of Majestics and I know what they will bring in the nearby future and the management of Majestics are very good and they’ll make me proud with the academy.”
Accra Majestics was launched on 10th July 2021 and has been on a steady rise which has even seen them sign as an affiliate of global recruitment agency Srama Rugby League Recruitment (SRLR) just ten (10) days after their launch with Luke Srama, Owner of Srama Rugby League Recruitment giving the full support to the club
“With Accra Majestics as an SRLR Affiliate Club, it will give the club Global exposure, some Sponsorship awareness and exposure for Players in Ghana to play Rugby League with Majestics. Also, any other information with Coaching & Development will be available to them.”
