Atta Mills memorial hockey tournament kicks off

The Atta Mills Memorial Hockey Tournament organized by the Ghana Hockey Association and the Greater Accra Hockey Association commenced today at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium. 

The tournament organized to honour the memory of the our late Ex-President H.E Prof. J.E.A Mills kicked off at exactly 2pm with Reformers Men and Police Men putting out a very good show. The match ended in a goalless draw with the Police team winning by penalties.

The second match of the day was played by Reformers (Women) and Police (Women).  The Police team did good but the Reformers were too strong for them; beating them by a goal to nil.

The Army(Men) won by a goal to nil in their match against GRA (Men).

Fixtures

Police (Men) played their second match against the University of Ghana (Men) team. They won by a goal to nil. The ladies team of the University of Ghana weren't so lucky as they conceded two goals in their game against the Reformers. The latter won with a 2 - 0 score.

LegonKnights lost by penalties to GRA(Men) after their match ended with a zero-all score. 

Reformers(Men) ended the day by beating the University of Ghana team by a 2 - 0 score.

The tournament continues tomorrow at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium at 6am.
